This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.

Paint on a speaker, you can see the music
That’s not paint, it’s a solution of corn starch and water with a little food colouring. The mixture produces a non-Newtonian fluid. Applying force, sound waves from the speaker in this case, causing the apparent viscosity to increase with the sound wave force.
9 cleverly hidden Star Wars references you (might have) never noticed
HIDDEN IN INDIANA JONES. This is too good.
I think my favourite is that E.T. probably takes place in the Star Wars universe. There’s a scene in E.T. were the little alien waddles after a kid dressed up as Yoda mumbling “Home home”. A Star Wars book makes a passing reference about a planet full of aliens that fit E.T.’s description. Plus these aliens make a small cameo in Phantom Menace.
For Drew
That’s pretty neat. I knew about the Indiana Jones one and Firefly, the rest are cool.
Ever so briefly, before drag began to equal the pull of gravity and terminal velocity is reached….

Yeah, I never really understood this. Seats are really cushiony though. Even public transit is like this, minus the cushions (all metal/plastic interior here) so I have yet to ride the bus with Babytu.
Also, my inlaws are really cool and drive us to all his Dr appts.
That’s just a math problem, F=MA etc. A school bus weighing 5.5 tons travelling 50 kph hitting just about anything will win i think. Kids will decelerate at a reasonable rate, padded seats should absorb a lot of any kind of impact. Also, should there be a fire on a bus, someone would have to go around and undo 50 panicking kids’ seat belts.
